The Ensemble Amaryllis' latest disc of 2017, led by recorder and baroque oboe Eloise Gaillard, a collection of Bach and Telemann's masterpieces. This disc is filled with the finest Baroque enjoyment, featuring the masterpieces of Bach and Telemann's concertos. Bach and Telemann were active at the same time, and both wrote concertos that emphasize dialogue between the players. In particular, in Telemann's concerto featuring the recorder and flauto traverso, or vertical and horizontal flutes, the two instruments blend beautifully, reminding us that Telemann was an excellent player of both instruments.
