This year marks the 50th anniversary of Okinawa's return to mainland Japan. In 1978, six years had passed since the reversion of Okinawa Prefecture to Japan. In 1978, six years had passed since the reversion of Okinawa Prefecture to Japan. Young people in Okinawa became more center-oriented after the reversion and turned their attention to glittering Tokyo, and at the time I had a sense of crisis that Okinawa would be forgotten. I remember many nights spent talking about this with my music friends. I decided to make my debut in mainland Japan and release \"Aka Hana (Red Flower)\" because I thought that the first step in conveying the beauty of Okinawa to young people in Okinawa would be to transmit Okinawan music from Tokyo. This recording was originally intended to be a recording of Okinawan folk songs, but when I inserted \"Bye Bye Okinawa\" into the demo tape, it was well received, and I succeeded in converting it into an \"original disc\" project. To begin with, Okinawan music is full of pop sensibility. I wanted to convey this in a way that was easy to understand, so I made the words and melodies more pop, rock, and soulful. My encounter with reggae music was also fateful. I was shocked when I was first exposed to reggae music at a Bob Marley concert, the rhythm of which could be sung directly from Okinawan folk songs. This was an event that allowed me to rediscover and rediscover the beauty of Okinawan music. I immediately incorporated the rhythm into \"Bye Bye Okinawa,\" and would later use it extensively in \"Naneze\" and other songs. The 1978 song \"Akahana\" was a message to young people to rediscover Okinawa, but it is also very significant to me as a fresh start, or rather as the starting point of my career. Please take this opportunity of the re-release to listen to the origin of \"Okinawan pop music based on island songs,\" which I still carry on to the Naneze.
