Schumann’s Symphony No. 4\n\nThirty years into the CD era, I realized that my journey through Furtwängler’s Gramophone recordings—which I’ve repurchased every time a new CD was released—was, in the end, a quest to recapture the sound of the MG series records I had heard long ago. In particular, the “Manfred Overture,” which appeared on the B-side of Schumann’s Symphony No. 4, never quite managed to evoke on CD the same emotional impact I’d experienced on the original MG series vinyl. According to the owner of a used record store, it’s not uncommon for customers to come back to repurchase MG series records they’d previously sold. While the technical specifications of modern CDs have certainly improved, and remastering is typically performed when including very old recordings like those of Furtwängler, it seems likely that digital recordings reflect the sound preferences of the engineer to a greater extent than analog ones.\nThis series of CDs, reissued from the beautiful, white-label, non-commercial sample copies of the MG Series records, has been produced without any remastering whatsoever—including the removal of minor noise or hiss. Now, the Schumann Symphony No. 4 included on this CD is renowned as a masterful performance, and while the sound quality was already excellent to begin with, we hope you will enjoy it even more thanks to the quick attack characteristic of freshly cut sample discs combined with the rich, full-bodied sound unique to pure analog.\n(Otaken Records, Kenshi Ota)\nTobu Land System\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Otaken Records","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":53595617755425,"sku":"2050267184348","price":13.95,"currency_code":"EUR","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0568\/8482\/2076\/files\/2050267184348.jpg?v=1790481950","url":"https:\/\/cdsvinyljapan.com\/it-it\/products\/2050267184348","provider":"CDs Vinyl Japan Store","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
