The album features current band members David Goodier, John O'Hara, Scott Hammond, and guitarist Jack Clark, making his recording debut with the band for the first time, along with former band member Andrew Giddings on keyboards, drummer James Duncan, and other musicians. and drummer James Duncan.\n\nIan Anderson had been saying for months after the release of Rock Flute that he would begin work on a new project in late 2023, and it took only a couple of weeks for the initial idea to begin solidifying into a well-intentioned draft. Then, in May 2024, the unfinished material he had previously recorded with John O'Hara, David Goodier, and James Duncan became the starting point for the new songs to form.
