The new album by Nils Menkemeyer, one of Germany's best viola players, \"Dialogue between Nature and Man,\" is an excellent album that seems to cure the blackmail of the concert in Japan in February, which was regrettably canceled due to the Corona disaster. The new album is a collection of works by the Greek actress-composer Constantia Gruzzi, whose new album has just been released on ECM. Gruzi was born in Greece in 1962. Influenced by various cultures and musical traditions, she is also involved in social issues and incorporates these elements into her own musical works. Gruzzi's work ranges from orchestral, chamber ensemble, and solo works to musicals and film music. He has been featured in major theaters and ensembles, including the Lucerne Festival, Berlin State Opera, Bavarian State Opera, Ensemble Musica Nova Israel, Ensemble Neue Musik Moscow, and the Athens State Orchestra, and in 2020 and 2021 he will be a suburb of Vienna He was the resident composer for the Grafenegg Music Festival.Gruzzi has also founded and worked with various ensembles, including Ensemble Attacca Berlin, Ensemble Echo, Ensemble Octopus for contemporary music, and Ensemble opus21musikplus. He currently holds a professorship in ensemble and contemporary music conducting at the Munich University of Music and Theater. This album features six works written in 2000 for Nils Menkemeyer and William Yong on the theme of the dialogue between man and nature. All were composed with the intention of conveying gratitude for the earth, reflecting on its beauty, and creating hope for an even better future. With these pieces, Gruzzi depicts the beauty of nature and encourages us to care for the earth's environment with his unique and rich tonal compositional style. Gruzzi, Menkemeyer, and pianist William Yong are close friends, not only in music but also in their personal lives, and Gruzzi's works have appeared on Menkemeyer's previous albums.Call of the bees,\" \"messages between tress,\" and \"melodies from the sea\" evoke the stories and voices of whales, bees, waves, and trees through expressive tone, rhythm, tempo, and timbre. Wind whispers\" poetically depicts images of the soft, quiet atmosphere. Not only is the natural world represented in a variety of sounds, but \"evening at the window II\" seems to come alive with the colorful images of Marc Chagall's paintings. Gruzzi himself plays percussion and prepared piano.
