The virtuoso player of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra performs with Minkowski's orchestra in an astonishing performance! The violin used here is the one Mozart used when he was concertmaster of the Salzburg Court Orchestra, and it is the same violin he used when he composed the five violin concertos for his own performance in 1773 and 1775. It is likely that they were performed using the violin. The instrument was probably created in the early 18th century in the workshop of the Klotz family in the Bavarian Alps. The label inside seems to suggest that it was modeled after Jacob Steiner's instrument, which was considered a masterpiece of \"silvery tone\" since that time. When Mozart left Salzburg, he did not take this violin with him to Vienna, but left it with his sister, who in 1820 sold it along with a violin from Mozart's childhood. The instrument has been treated as a \"Mozart relic\" since that time and is in excellent condition, virtually original except for a few minor alterations. Austro-Hungarian violinist Christoph Koncz, who won worldwide acclaim at the tender age of 9 for his role as the child prodigy Kaspar Weiss in the Academy Award-winning Canadian film \"The Red Violin,\" joined the Vienna State Opera Orchestra in 2008 at the age of 20. In 2008, at the age of 20, he joined the Vienna State Opera Orchestra, where he currently holds a diverse international career as a soloist, chamber musician, and principal second violinist with the Vienna Philharmonic (his brother, cellist Stefan Koncz, is a member of the Berlin Philharmonic, Philharmoniker, and arranger). He has also established himself internationally as a conductor, joining the Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra on tour in 2014 for 14 performances, and conducting Mozart's works at the Salzburg Festival that same year to great acclaim.Since 2019, he has also been appointed Chief Conductor of the Neuss Deutsche Kammerakademie and Principal Guest Conductor of the Musikverein. This is probably the first recording by the Musikverein without Minkowski, which shows the orchestra's strong trust in Kontz. In this recording, the pitch is lower than that of today, as it was in Mozart's lifetime, and the performance, including the cadenza, is in the historical style of the time. There is a close relationship between these concertos and this instrument, and Mozart's experience with it undoubtedly had a profound influence on him. He liked to use the tessitura and coloratura in the upper register in his violin concertos. These registers sound especially beautiful on this Mozart's own instrument,\" said Koncz.
