Description:

MTT's Beethoven recordings culminate in the first ever complete Beethoven symphony cycle by a chamber orchestra! Finally, the international release of SONY CLASSICAL MASTERS BOX The 20th edition of the popular budget box "MASTERS BOX" by Sony Classical, a long-established American classical label with over 100 years of history. The MASTERS BOX is a popular series of budget-priced releases featuring a wide range of classic pieces from the extensive catalogs of both Sony Classical and RCA Red Seal, two long-established American classical labels with over 100 years of history, and featuring performances by established artists that every music fan should hear at least once. The artwork design is white and eye-catching, and the booklet is not included in this set. This set does not include a booklet. The complete Beethoven symphonies recorded by Michael Tilson Thomas (MTT) with two chamber orchestras over a period of seven years, beginning with "The Countryside" in 1978 and ending with "Heroes" in 1986.The sharpness of the performance by a small orchestra, which is different from the image of Beethoven with a standard large orchestra that was the mainstream in the latter half of the 20th century, stands out, and MTT's interpretation, which was still sharp and subtle, brings out Beethoven's innovations. The arrangement of the violin parts on the left and right, which is commonplace today, was fresh at the time, and the movements of each part of the orchestra can be clearly captured, and the coordination of various motifs and changes in harmony can be easily heard. The English Chamber Orchestra, the pioneer of English chamber orchestras, which is in charge of the eight pieces, and the St. Luke's Orchestra, which is in charge of "Heroes," are all fierce, one-hit wonders, and their high mobility is overwhelming. This is a compilation of his Beethoven recordings. Sony Music
