Nathalie Dessay is a dazzling opera singer. She is also a compelling actress, whether in tragedy or comedy. The arias, famous scenes, and complete operas in the collection recorded here attest to them. Nathalie Dessay was born in Lyon. Originally an actress, she was encouraged to study voice at the Conservatoire National de Bordeaux and later became a choir member at a church in Toulouse. Later, after studying at the Paris Opera for a year, she won the \"New Voices\" vocal competition and in 1990 the \"International Mozart Competition\" at the Vienna State Opera.
