Since his retirement, he has been active in a wide range of activities, including writing (not only music, but also poetry), lecturing, and master classes. This DVD was publicly recorded in March 2019 and 2020 at the Suk Hall in Rudolfinum, Prague, and features Brendel's eponymous Beethoven, Mozart, and Schubert. Although Brendel does not perform, his narration gives us a picture of Brendel as a musician. In \"My Life in Music,\" Brendel looks back on his long career and talks about his fulfilling experiences as a musician.In \"Beethoven's Last Sonatas and Late Styles,\" Brendel's former PHILIPS recordings are played to explain the pieces and give an insight into Beethoven's image. In \"Mozart Performances,\" Jan Bartosz, known as Brendel's treasured son, plays the Piano Concerto No. 9 \"Genamy,\" Piano Concerto No. 19, and Piano Sonata, among others. In the \"Master Class,\" Brendel lectures on Schubert's Piano Trio No. 1, performed by Trio Incendio. In January 2021, Brendel will celebrate the 90th anniversary of his birth.
