Horowitz in Moscow" is a recording of the late Russian-born master Horowitz, who made his U.S. debut in 1928, became a U.S. citizen in 1944, and did not return to his native Russia for many years. When Horowitz returned to the U.S. for the first time in 60 years to give a recital in Moscow, the enthusiasm of the audience was truly legendary, and this recording captures all the excitement of the audience. Horowitz, whose technique had been rumored to be on the wane for some time, is in full force here, and his performance of Scarlatti, Scriabinotti, and Scriabine is a masterpiece.
