820233451420
Fkj - Tyber - Import CD

Toward New Horizons FKJ, the French multi-instrumentalist, singer, and producer who enjoys worldwide popularity, has released his third studio album, Tyber! Spanning jazz, soul, classical, hip-hop, funk, rock, and electronic music, FKJ has fused a timeless musicality with an experimental spirit. He continues to captivate audiences around the world with his exceptional musicality and an intimate sound that melts into the listener’s ears. Tyber is FKJ’s most free-spirited and daring work to date. From groove-driven tracks to jazz-led instrumentals, sample-based experimental approaches, and straightforward songwriting, the album moves effortlessly between funk, alternative pop, R&B, and psychedelic sounds while maintaining a consistent artistic vision. Deeply personal yet possessing a global perspective, this album can be seen as a real-time record of FKJ’s own evolution and growth. “Soulmates” is a track that truly embodies that spirit. Through its warm, immersive sound and fluid rhythms, it highlights FKJ’s intuitive compositional skills while serving as a gateway to the new world of Tyber. The album also features an all-star lineup of artists, including Lucy Park, BabyRose, Bas, Eryn Allen Kane, and Labrinth. Their diverse backgrounds and sensibilities bring a rich breadth to the entire work. Released in 2022, VINCENT was a huge success, and FKJ subsequently embarked on a massive tour of the world’s leading venues, including Coachella, Red Rocks, London’s Hammersmith Apollo, and Le Zénith in Paris. However, behind that success, his own life was in turmoil. A video he happened to come across shed light on the reason why: the concept, rooted in Hindu philosophy, that “age 33 is a turning point where life either takes a major leap forward or begins a downward spiral.” Upon digging deeper, he discovered that many of his friends had experienced similar difficulties at that same age. The root of the problem lay in another contradiction. Most of VINCENT was created while he was holed up in his home studio in East Asia during the lonely days of the COVID-19 pandemic. On the other hand, as the world began to move again, FKJ kept running to meet the flood of offers coming his way, losing the mental space to recognize the emotional toll it was taking on him. During that time, guided by a trusted friend, he attended a retreat where he had an experience that profoundly changed his life. Amid nature, FKJ underwent a deep transformation of consciousness and encountered a tree-like entity he named “Tyber.” The depth of that experience was such that his sense of time dissolved entirely.
