The artist chosen for this momentous release is Gustav Holst, who celebrates the 150th anniversary of his birth in 2024. The work features the one-act chamber opera "Servitori" based on the Indian epic "Mahabharata"!

Klaus Zimon, founder and conductor of the Holst Sinfonietta and Opera Factory Freiburg, and one of the signature artists of the bustille musique, has been a big Holst fan since the early 1980s. His most special work, "Servitori," which he performed on his first public appearance as a conductor, has finally been recorded with the help of Bernd Künzig of the SWR. The second half of the recording features a song cycle by three singers from Opera Factory Freiburg, who were soloists in the "Servitori". The "Vedic Chant" and "Twelve Songs of Humbert Wolff" are arranged by Zimon with chamber ensemble accompaniment.

The booklet includes the lyrics to all the songs, commentary by Bernd Feuchtner & Cornelius Bauer, and an interview with Klaus Zimon by Sebastian Zolte (Japanese translation is included on the domestic edition!). The "bastille musique" luxury box set includes two fold-out inserts with photographs of composers and performers, and is an extra-large release that celebrates the 150th anniversary of Holst's birth with a multifaceted presentation of his orchestral and brass band works, including "The Planets," as well as his other compositions. This is an extra-large release worthy of the 150th anniversary of Holst's birth.

Recorded at Hans Rothbout Studio, Baden-Baden, Germany

(Tokyo M-Plus)
