As a fitting conclusion to this series, the recording features a cast of singers including Carolyn Sampson, Joanne Lang, Ryo Sakurada, and Dominique Werner, all well-known soloists in the BCJ repertoire. Wiederau, BWV 30a, a sister piece to the \"Peasant Cantata,\" BWV 212, is a musical drama composed as a tribute to Henicke, a vassal of the Elector of Saxony, Brühl, who has been appointed lord of the manor of Wiederau. The music is full of energy, and the light syncopation and the orderly structure of the dancer-like sections show the influence of the new Italian style that was then flowing into the Dresden court.On the other hand, the cantata for solo soprano and small orchestra, \"I Am Full of Myself,\" BWV 204, urges the listener to seek peace within himself and not to be deceived by the riches of this world, a proposition that is followed closely throughout the performance.
