The recordings are from the golden age of jazz, from the mid-50s to the early 60s, and include some of the greatest albums by Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Bill Evans, and others from the Prestige, Blue Note, and Riverside recordings of the mid-50s to the early 60s. The albums are carefully selected from a number of albums from the mid-1950s to the early 1960s by Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Bill Evans and others, to hidden masterpieces that will make jazz fans grin. The dynamic and varied performances by a total of 19 drummers are on parade, and there is even a track featuring a battle between drummers (the final track on Disc 1 and Disc 3, respectively).All songs are complete, no fade-out processing.
