He had the foresight to recognize young talent and organized it into a strong musical unit. The result inevitably leads to musicians standing on their own and achieving greater success. Such was the case with John Mayall, who died on July 22 of this year. Here is an unpublished live archive of his 1960s work with some of his greatest backing musicians! In the mid-1960s, Mayall employed some of the best guitar players in England. He discovered Eric Clapton, followed by Peter Green and a great guitarist. However, Peter Green left to form Fleetwood Mac, and John Mayall brought in a young Mick Taylor, who would later join The Rolling Stones, as lead guitarist. This was a prescient choice. He also resumed his career with The Bluesbreakers, with Dick Hextall Smith on saxophone, who would later form The Coliseum. This lineup will tour the U.S. and Europe, and on February 9 and 10, the last dates of the U.S. tour, they will perform at the Fillmore, a prestigious concert hall in San Francisco. The concert on February 9 and 10 was recorded and broadcast on a local radio station. This live album is a complete recording of the concert. The most notable aspect of this live performance is Mick Taylor's guitar playing. At this point, he is already aiming for his own unique sound, and his guitar playing is not flashy, but thoughtful, refined, sharp, and full of charm with a unique touch. This lineup lasted only a short time, but the sound they created is superb! This is a valuable archival live album. Three additional bonus tracks from the performance on the following day, the 10th, are included.
