Bromstedt had already recorded Symphonies Nos. 4, 6, and 7 with the Dresden Staatskapelle and the San Francisco Symphony; this Ninth, marking his first Bruckner recording with a European orchestra in quite some time and serving as a test of his chemistry with the LGO, was a performance that generated significant buzz upon its release.\nIn this Ninth Symphony as well, Blomstedt remained true to his established performance style, portraying a seamless Bruckner while respecting the orchestra’s distinctive character and prestige. He would later go on to record the complete Bruckner symphonies with the LGO (the re-recording of the Ninth took place 16 years after this release, in 2011; the complete cycle was completed in 2012), his fundamental interpretation has not changed significantly. Although the nuances differ slightly in the re-recording—which was made live—this 1995 DECCA recording has not lost its luster; on the contrary, we have received numerous requests for both versions as rare releases.\nIt should be noted that when it was first released in 1996, only Symphony No. 9 was included; it was later re-released in 1999 with the “Adagio for String Orchestra” added as a bonus track. This recording will likely be remembered as a sort of “phantom” release—one that was intended to be the next in the duo’s series of Bruckner recordings for DECCA. However, it is far more than a mere record; it is a precious “memory” of the duo’s rich, intense sound.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"TOWER RECORDS UNIVERSAL VINTAGE COLLECTION +plus","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":53595614740769,"sku":"4988005787095","price":9.95,"currency_code":"EUR","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0568\/8482\/2076\/files\/4988005787095.jpg?v=1790481932","url":"https:\/\/cdsvinyljapan.com\/es-es\/products\/4988005787095","provider":"CDs Vinyl Japan Store","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
