This album was recorded at a concert in Buenos Aires, Spain in 1979. This is the first official release with the cooperation of the Bill Evans Estate. Remastered from the live original concert tape reel (broadcast material) that the trio of Bill Evans (p), Mark Johnson (b), and Joe LaBarbera (ds) performed at the Teatro Gran Rex in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on September 27, 1979. The recording was made in 1979, and Bill Evans passed away the following year, but this is his so-called last trio performance. The 13 songs on this recording are wonderfully dynamic, with no hint of death in the performance.The songs on this album are also mostly songs that Evans liked to play. It also features plenty of bass solos by Mark Johnson and drum solos by Joe LaBarbera. The booklet includes rare photos from the actual concert, essays by American author\/journalist Mark Myers and Argentinean writer Claudio Parisi, and recent interviews with Carlos Merello, Mark Johnson, Joe LaBarbera, and others who owned the original tapes.
