A collection of violin sonatas by Francesca Dego] Italian violinist Francesca Dego. Following her previous recording of Brahms\/Busoni: Violin Concerto (CHSA5333), she has recorded two sonatas and four bagatelles for violin and piano. Both violin sonatas are written in E minor, and the works show a strong German Romantic influence. The first sonata is a romantic work inspired by Brahms' Violin Sonata No. 3, while the second sonata, completed 10 years later, is deeper and uses more complex counterpoint. The third movement is a long variation on the theme of J.S. Bach's chorale \"Wie wohl ist mir, oh friend of my soul. It is said that Busoni was in love with Egon Petri's mother, which may be one of the reasons why his music is unusually light, and gives us a sense of \"joie de vivre\".Francesca Dego has already performed with various orchestras in Japan, including the NHK Symphony Orchestra, and has won many fans. She is also active in chamber music and regularly performs in recital with pianist Francesca Leonardi.
