Through the virtuosity of the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra, which is known for its high performance technique, the audience can fully enjoy the beauty and dynamism of the work and its great climax.Written for cello and piano between 1899 and 1903, \"Dirge\" is a beautiful little piece, freshly written with the sensibility of a 30-year-old or so, and can be heard here in the version arranged by the composer himself in 1911, when he became skilled in orchestral music.
