The series is sponsored by conductor Christian Thielemann. No. 4, \"Romantic,\" was arranged by Thomas Schmöckner, born in 1964. He studied organ at the Vienna State University of Music, taught at various places, and served as organist at St. Ann's Church. The arrangement here is based on the 1878\/80 (second draft), which has been performed many times by the orchestra. The finish is expected to be just as popular. In this series, the \"Bruckner Fenster = Bruckner's Window\", new works inspired by Bruckner's music are also recorded side by side. Here we have \"Morgenglanz der Ewigkeit eternal morning glow\" by German composer Philipp Meinz, who also appeared on Vol. 0. The piece is a dreamy piece with fragments of Bruckner appearing in places, led by a celesta-like tone at the beginning, and ends with a beautiful and solemn chorale. The \"Magic of the Evening\" at the beginning is Bruckner's choral piece, arranged by Hansjörg Albrecht, who also performs it. The human voice is beautifully transposed to the organ. The use of a different organ each time is one of the attractions of this series.The Vienna Konzerthaus organ used for this concert is one of the largest concert organs in Europe, with a five-stage keyboard and 116 stops.
