The record had a fuzzy, fuzzy sound, and the CD had a strong digital smell and was tinny. The sound of the white-label sample disc used for this reissue was crisp and natural, yet not lacking in any of the naturalness unique to analog. The tempo of \"The Countryside of Lugano,\" which is said to be slow, never faltered, but moved forward so fast that it seemed faster than the actual time. Another characteristic of this disc is that the style of the last years of the maestro's life, which could be called \"lightness\" (karomi), with its frank reading and plain expression, is truly apparent. The world that the master reached at the end of his career was not a world of wabi-sabi, but a world of youth and color, a world where something new is about to begin. K.466 performed on the same day is not only Furtwängler's best Mozart work, but is also considered by many to be the best performance of K.466 even today. Please enjoy it as well.
