His father is Richard Carr, a jazz violinist who has worked with Bill Laswell and Bootsy Collins, and has a degree in jazz himself.Since around 2018, he has been producing his own electronic hip-hop, jazz, and soul instrumentals, Carrtoons vol. III (2018), and Giftape (2019), among other distribution releases.In 2020, he released \"Saturday Morning\", a soundtrack featuring singers and rappers, also for distribution, which attracted attention on social networking sites and YouTube. He fronts Thundercat and Nick Hakim, and in 2022, he releases \"HOMEGROWN,\" his first album in physical form. The album, which featured guest appearances by Ray Khalil, Nigel Hall, and others, was a hit.
