On *Answers*, their ongoing dialogue has culminated in a fully collaborative work.\nAt its core lies the idea of “looking back at the past to move forward.” Based in Vienna, Wolverhampton, and the Welsh countryside, the two exchanged songs, videos, and ideas via email, WhatsApp, and shared folders. They developed the music through an intuitive process of listening, transforming, and responding—each reacting to what the other sent.\nThe catalyst for this collaboration was Wilkinson’s viewing of the 2022 video work “LetItAllGo” by the Dorian Concept. This led Wilkinson to propose a collaborative audio-visual project to Johnson, and from there, as VIVIO, he contributed guitar to Dorian Concept’s 2025 release, “Miniatures.”\nThis creative process also extended to the visual works that accompany the album. Wilkinson and Johnson co-produced five video pieces. Making full use of analog and early digital video cameras, VHS-C, MiniDV, VJ equipment, video mixers, and even modified analog video equipment, they actively incorporated the glitches, imperfections, unexpected visual distortions, and artifacts produced by aging equipment.
