Erwin Walter (1920-1995), a composer from Amberg, Germany, who celebrates the 100th anniversary of his birth in 2020. From the age of four, he was taught piano, harmony, music history, and composition by his father, Ernst Walter, a pupil of Josef Rheinberger and an accomplished musician. Later an accomplished pianist and composer with a studio stage in Amberg, he composed incidental music for numerous performances, including works by Sartre, Cocteau, Brecht, and others. He also co-founded the Amberg Jazz Club and received numerous commissions for film and radio productions.
