A dream meeting is realized! Kilebert \u0026amp; Berlin Philharmonic Bruckner's 9th Symphony. Ferras Solo Berg ConcertoGerman master Josef Kilebert (1908-1968), according to records, appeared every year after the war at the Salzburg Festival from 1957 to 1962, performing both operas and concerts with the Vienna Philharmonic, mainly Mozart operas and symphonies. For three years from 1959, he appeared in orchestral concerts not with the Vienna Philharmonic but with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the Staatskapelle Dresden, one year at a time. The album, which is now part of ORFEO's \"Salzburg Festival Documents,\" captures the concert on August 17, 1960, the only time Kilebert conducted the Berlin Philharmonic at the Salzburg Festival, and features the Alban Berg concerto with the virtuoso Ferras as well as Bruckner's 9th Symphony in the main program. The program includes Bruckner's Ninth Symphony along with the Alban Berg Concerto with the virtuoso Feras. The most famous Bruckner symphony recordings by Kiehlbart are No. 9, which he recorded with the Hamburg State Philharmonic Orchestra in 1956, and No. 6, which he recorded with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra in 1963. All of these recordings are characterized by their rigid style and large scale, which are in the German mainstream tradition, and the performances were superb. In addition to Kiehlbert's conducting, the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, which was recorded in the early days of the orchestra, before it was fully imbued with Karajan's colorful style, is also noteworthy here. On the other hand, the first half of Berg's Violin Concerto was recorded live with the Orchestre de la Musique de Paris under Prêtre (1963), with the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande under Anselme (1957), and with the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra under Fletcher (1964). The recording of the Paris Conservatory Orchestra (1963), the live recording with the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande under Anselme (1957), and the live recording with the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra under Fletcher (1964) show that this work has long been known as one of Ferras's best works. The combination of Kilebert and Fellas was strongly remembered by fans as one of the best performances of Beethoven's Violin Concerto in a live concert with the Orchestre National de Radio France in 1967, and so the audience can look forward to a great performance of this concerto on the occasion of Fellas' Salzburg Festival debut. The performance of Beethoven's Violin Concerto live with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France was one of the best ever recorded by the orchestra.
