Following the medieval custom of singing around a single large music stand, they catch each other's facial expressions perfectly and create superb harmonies. From century to century, from generation to generation, and from person to person, the music of Gregorian chant and folk music has been passed down and is still being played today. The two traditions meet on this CD.Why? You may wonder why. The reason is that both styles of music are practical music, using familiar sounds and instruments. ［Ulrike Heidel was born in Erlangen, Germany, and moved to the Netherlands to study music.
