Bach's (1685-1750) six \"Sonatas for Flute and Harpsichord\" are very famous, but their origins are the subject of much debate. In addition, part of the first movement of BWV 1032 has been lost, so when performed, the score was restored by a later generation. Furthermore, BWV 1031 and BWV 1033 are now considered to be the works of a composer other than Bach (perhaps his son), and the beautiful \"Siciliano\" in the second movement of BWV 1031, which has already established its position as \"Bach's work,\" is not really Bach's work. The three pieces from BWV 1033 to 1035 are said to have been originally composed for unaccompanied flute with a basso continuo, but they too are widely loved for their gorgeous flute melodies. Although the origin of each piece is still a mystery, they are highly accomplished and have become a very important part of the repertoire of flutists. Note the differences in the sound of the instruments, which vary from piece to piece.
