First, he found the Quechua text \"Hanacpachap cussicuinin\" in a 17th-century prayer book, and set it to modern, four-voice polyphonic music. The second piece is a fusion of Afro-Cuban ceremonial music and Spanish incantations. The unique rhythms and floating sensations add to the enigmatic atmosphere. The third piece, \"Interludio Interlude,\" by the orchestra, is meditative, but again colored with unique rhythms. The final piece is a tragic tale of the conquest of the Aztec Empire written by Bernal Díaz del Castillo, a 16th century Spanish writer. It is the music of a fierce battle, with the perspectives of both the invader and the invaded complicated. The \"Triple Concerto\" and \"Loisa,\" which reflect the atmosphere of the Caribbean Sea, are also enjoyable works with a rich ethnic flavor.
