His father is Texas blues guitarist Johnny Copeland, and at the age of 16, he opened for his father on tour. Upon graduating high school, he signed with Alligator Records and made his debut in 1998 with Turn the Heat Up! His sophomore effort, 2000's \"Wicked\" with Ruth Brown, won a Blues Music Award (BMA).He also released \"Talking to Strangers\" in 2002 with Dr. John as producer, and \"The Soul Truth\" in 2005 with Steve Cropper, one after another. After that, he moved to Telarc and released \"Never Going Back\" in 2009 and \"33 1\/3\" in 2012, which again won a BMA. She has performed at many blues festivals in the U.S. and Europe, and has been called the Queen of the Blues in both name and reality.
