It is dedicated to the death of his friend Sorelczynski, who died suddenly while Shostakovich was composing this work. The Trio Zelikha, while utilizing the clear and beautiful tones of each player, delivers lush and vibrant music in the Schubert, and in the Shostakovich, the beautiful melodies in the high notes are sung to their fullest extent, while the tingling world unique to Shostakovich is beautifully portrayed. Trio Zelija was formed in 2018.
