The Merzbau Archive Series by Slowdown Records, launched in 2018, is now available in its sixteenth boxed work!
This box, New Ear Control, consists of six albums, Nil Cluster, Lacrima, Bluedron, Orthogenesis, 450Q, and Noise 5706, which collect Merzbau's 2016-2017 material. During this period, Merzbau released "Aodron" (Automation Records, 2017), "Eureka Moment" (Black Smoker Records, 2017), "Hyakki Echo" (Dirter Promotions, 2017), and Sun Ra's Strange City (Cold Spring, 2016), which uses sound sources from Sun Ra as source material, and this box includes performances that sound similar to these works.
The recordings are all one-shot recordings with no editing or overdubs, and only volume, localization, and other balance adjustments were made in the post-recording mixes.
