During the Rio de Janeiro performance, the music seemed to flow effortlessly, and Keith himself is convinced it ranks among his best. “I had absolutely no idea what this concert would mean, but it turned out to be the best. Everything I played here was improvisation, but this concert has become unforgettable. If it had been in another country, another hall, with another audience, or on another date, this work would never have been created. It was a miraculous night that can never be repeated. It had a beautiful structure—jazz-infused yet serious, at times sweet, at times passionate, energetic, warm, and playful—a well-crafted piece with no wasted movements. In a sense, it felt like a unique connection to Brazilian culture. “The acoustics in this hall were perfect, and the audience was enthusiastic and moved,” he said.
