Eric Johnson first came to prominence when his 1986 album Tones was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Rock Instrumental Performance. His unique guitar tone, amazing technique, and melodies that skillfully incorporate elements of jazz, blues, and country music have attracted many guitar freaks. In 2022, he has released two new albums, and is still actively performing. His 1990 album "Ah Via Musicom" charted at No. 67 on the U.S. album chart, was nominated for another Grammy Award in the Rock Instrumental Performance category, and was released on CD.
