Including a cover of John Coltrane's "After The Rain", this is a gem that shows his musical roots, from jazz to hip-hop. Jeff Parker says, "When I make music, I try to get away from what I know." Instead of going to the guitar with a staff and pen at the ready, I started making music from sampling. He learned to make loops and beats and got hooked. And "The New Breed" was born, seamlessly layering hip-hop beats and jazz swing.
