Farkas, who was a professor at the Liszt School of Music and taught Kurtág and Ligeti; Veresh, who studied under Kodály and worked as an assistant to Bartók; Kokay, who was the music director of the Hungarian Broadcasting Corporation and is known as a Liszt scholar; Veiner, who studied under Kodály but lost his life in a concentration camp; and Kurtág, who studied under Kodály but lost his life in the war. Veinel, who studied with Kodály but died in a concentration camp; and Fried, who was also persecuted during the war but managed to survive and was active in the Netherlands after the war.
