This Fauré album marks the first full-length collaborative recording by these two long-time friends, both of whom have earned high international acclaim. At the heart of the program are two violin sonatas written at opposite ends of Fauré’s career: the early and the late. The First Sonata was composed when Fauré was around 30—the same age as the duo today—and powerfully expresses ambition, vitality, and inner energy. In contrast, the Second Sonata, written in his later years, is a deeply introspective work that seeks light amidst difficult circumstances—such as his declining hearing and the First World War—and ultimately arrives at a sense of calm acceptance. The album also includes beautiful short pieces, such as arrangements of art songs including “After the Dream” and “Clair de Lune,” as well as the “Lullaby, Op. 16” for violin and piano, allowing listeners to fully appreciate Fauré’s talent as an exceptional melodist. With their solid technique and interpretive skill, the two musicians portray the universal emotions and quiet solace hidden within the score with straightforward sincerity, without excessive embellishment, vividly tracing the trajectory of Fauré’s musical evolution.\nNaxos Japan\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Alpha","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":52699436810529,"sku":"4589538831615","price":28.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0568\/8482\/2076\/files\/4589538831615.jpg?v=1779022628","url":"https:\/\/cdsvinyljapan.com\/en-us\/products\/4589538831615","provider":"CDs Vinyl Japan Store","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
