A terrific live performance roars into the semi-open-air performance hall of the summer music festival. The studio recording with the London Symphony Orchestra leaves me unsatisfied with the recording and the choir, so this live performance is welcome. The performance is as intense as Munsch's. The balance and leadership are excellent. The attention to detail and the spiritedness of the steps are wonderful. You can fully enjoy the wonder of matching the Boston Symphony Orchestra, a French orchestra with French instruments, to play German music with aplomb. The recording is in good stereo with a little hiss noise. English and Japanese liner notes are included.
