Introduced here in Japan with the catchphrase "Portuguese Sufian Stevens," the two albums "WORST SUMMER EVER" and "THOSE WHO THROW OBJECTS AT THE CROCODILES WILL BE ASKED TO RETRIEVE THEM," released simultaneously in 2016, were a big hit. In 2018, Bruno Pernadas performed in Japan for the first time at the outdoor festival FRUE, where he gave a fantastic performance and is steadily gaining fans in Japan. The theme of this album is "futuristic Afrobeat," but the single "Theme Vision," which was released earlier, is surprisingly retro and loosely psychedelic pop. Described as "sounding like an overturned suitcase of a record collector on his way home from a trip around the world*," the band's uncategorizable musicality seems to be alive and well in this new album.
