(He recorded Mozart and Mendelssohn with Camerata Salzburg in 2006 and 2009, making his return to Sony Classical after a 10-year absence.) Kavakos is not only a concerto soloist with superb technique, but also a chamber musician and conductor, and has an artistic style that goes beyond the boundaries of a single violin soloist. DISC 1 is a violin concerto for the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, and in 49:30 minutes and 30 seconds, he sings the entire piece with great care and originality. The original expression is fresh, but the stylistic framework is well maintained and the interpretation is impressive. The cadenza of the first movement is an arrangement of Beethoven's composition with timpani for the piano version of this concerto, and DISC 2 contains the young-written septet as well as the secret pieces \"Six Themes and Variations\" and \"Ten Themes and Variations\". This is the face of Kavakos as a chamber musician. Kavakos says of Beethoven's music, \"Beethoven's music is a very powerful force in the world of music. Beethoven's emotions in his works are extremely rich and personal. His music is so richly emotional and personal, and so brave that he was willing to make enemies of the world. There is an inner conflict and a powerful confrontation in Beethoven's musical world. It is therefore impossible to play this music purely, without intonation, without emotional control. He threw off the values of the 18th century in which he lived and looked resolutely to the future.\" This highly individual Beethoven album, in which Kavakos' strong will permeates every aspect of the music, is sure to set a new standard. Born in Athens to a musical family and a student of Gingold and others, Kavakos won first prize at the Sibelius Competition in 1985 and the Paganini International Competition in 1988, earning him fame throughout Europe.Since then, he has performed with major orchestras around the world. He has also focused on chamber music and has expanded his activities as a conductor, for which he has received high acclaim.
