That same year he also met Bruno Maderna and participated in the Darmstadt Summer Courses in Contemporary Music in 1954, 1956, 1958, and 1961. Much of his work is based on extremely reduced basic materials, such as pitch cells and single pitches, from which he derives all of his subsequent developments. One idea is enough for a composition.
