This project positions Donizetti as a key composer in the 19th-century song repertoire, restoring the brilliance of Italian song to a field long dominated by German and French composers. This volume features the renowned soprano Rosa Feola, who performs at major opera houses worldwide.Her crystalline voice and expressive artistry have earned her international acclaim, and she won numerous prizes at the Operalia International Competition early in her career. In 2010, she won the top prize and the Audience Award at the Plácido Domingo-sponsored Operalia International Competition, instantly gaining attention. She subsequently made her Salzburg Festival debut under Riccardo Muti, receiving acclaim for her role as Nanetta in Verdi's Falstaff.Since then, he has appeared at major theaters worldwide, including La Scala in Milan, the Royal Opera House in London, the Metropolitan Opera, and the Lyric Opera of Chicago, building a broad repertoire centered on works by Donizetti, Mozart, and Verdi.
