This is an album of all piano works by Guillaume Lecoux, a genius composer who died at the young age of 24 after contracting typhus from an unsanitary dessert of sherbet he had at a Paris restaurant. The performer, Salvatori, searched through libraries for manuscript scores, which led to this recording of the complete works. He was influenced by Wagner and Beethoven in his early years, but after studying with César Franck and Vincent d'Indy, his talent blossomed and he wrote many outstanding works. He was influenced by Wagner and Beethoven.
