Bach performer. We are pleased to present here a performance that will leave you in awe of the expressive power of the piano as a musical instrument. New preface by Yoshiko Ikuma and memoir \"16 years with Nikolaeva\" by Tomoo Nojima, the director at that time, are included in the commentary. Mastering was done in pursuit of the original sound. World's first SACD release!\n\n\n\nRomantic Bach supported by unfathomably deep musicality. The expressive power of the piano instrument is once again marveled at. This recording was made at the same time as \"Romantic Bach\" (NCS88042 released at the same time) during the mature period of Nicolaeva's career. We are pleased to present this gem of a performance on SACD. The recording director Tomoo Nojima and recording engineer Fumio Hattori were present at the time to review the power supply and equipment, and the latest mastering has been applied to the SACD. A retrospective by Mr. Nojima and liner notes by Yoshiko Ikuma, who interviewed Mr. Nojima at that time, are also included.\n\n\n\nNikolaeva won the Leipzig Johann Sebastian Bach International Competition held in 1950 to commemorate the bicentennial of his death, and since then she has gained an international reputation as a leading Bach performer. Shostakovich, who was selected as a juror at the aforementioned competition, was greatly impressed by Nikolaeva's performance, and in 1951 he composed \"24 Preludes and Fugues\" (first performed in 1952), which is considered one of the most representative works of 20th century Soviet piano music, and dedicated the work to Nikolaeva. Nikolaeva made many recordings for the Melodia label and visited Japan frequently to record Bach's works with Victor.The recording of the works, initially as a joint production with Melodia and later as original recordings for Victor, began in 1977, and five albums (counting the average as one) were left behind from 1982 to 1991 with an intervening period. After the first recording in 1977, the sessions were recorded at the Imaichi Cultural Hall in Nikko, near where Nikolaeva herself preferred to stay at the time. Later, Victor recorded Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1 live with Nikolaeva as the soloist at the \"Tchaikovsky Last Concert\" conducted by Fedoseyev in Osaka in 1993 (available as a SACD hybrid disc of this project in 2022 on NCS88013 ). Nikolaeva died the following year, so this disc was her last recording with Victor.\n\n(1\/3)\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"VICTOR X TOWER RECORDS","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":51598181597473,"sku":"4988002948604","price":715.0,"currency_code":"TWD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0568\/8482\/2076\/files\/4988002948604.jpg?v=1755223274","url":"https:\/\/cdsvinyljapan.com\/en-tw\/products\/4988002948604","provider":"CDs Vinyl Japan Store","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
