However, Berlioz, who said, \"It is a disgrace to our musical world that a talent of this caliber is unknown in Paris,\" praised him so highly that he has been rapidly reevaluated in recent years.\n\n\n\nThis album contains his quintessential chamber works for wind instruments. It includes three masterpieces that are liturgical, melodic, and colorful: the \"Septet\" (written for the wind instrument society presided over by Paul Taffanel, a virtuoso flute player), the \"Nonet\" (probably the \"Gallic Suite\" from Op.90), and the \"Serenade\", one of his best-known works.
