The recording features Sibelius, Chiaki Murakawa's most cherished repertoire. Under Murakawa's passionate baton, the magnificent and rich music of Sibelius, which evokes the nature of Yamagata, is performed majestically. It is a harmony of the soul filled with determination that will lead us to the next future. ＜Chiaki Murakawa, conductor, graduated from the Department of Composition, Faculty of Music, Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. She studied composition under Tomojiro Ikeuchi.In 1963, he moved to the U.S. to study conducting at Indiana University Graduate School of Music, where he worked as an assistant in the theory department. He received his Master of Music degree. In 1966, he returned to Japan and made his debut with the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra in September of the same year. In September of the same year, he made his debut conducting the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra. He has conducted the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, the Sapporo Symphony Orchestra, the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Kyoto Symphony Orchestra, etc. In 1968, he became an instructor of conducting at the Tokyo College of Music, and in 1972, he founded the Yamagata Symphony Orchestra, where he serves as Music Director and Permanent Conductor. In 2004, he received the \"2004 Award for Distinguished Contributions to Local Culture\". He is currently the founding Honorary Conductor of the Yamagata Symphony Orchestra. He is a member of the Japan String Teachers Association. ＜The Yamagata Symphony Orchestra was established in 1972 as the first professional orchestra in Tohoku.
