After winning the National Guitar Competition (now Tokyo International Guitar Competition) at the age of 15, in 1977, at the age of 16, he became the youngest ever winner of the world's three major international guitar competitions in Ramirez, Alessandria, and Paris. He has released 85 albums, including LPs and CDs.In 1980, his arrangement of \"Pictures at an Exhibition\" was a great success. Since then, he has successively arranged for guitar such major orchestral works as \"The Firebird,\" \"Scheelazato,\" and \"From the New World,\" as well as \"Bach: Suite for Solo Violin, Cello, Flute and Lute BWV995-1013\" (5CDs). He also has a vast guitar repertoire, including \"F. Sor: Complete Guitar Works (16CDs),\" \"H. Villalobos: 12 Exercises and 5 Etudes,\" and \"M. Castelnuovo-Tedesco: 24 Caprichos by Goya,\" all of which are highly acclaimed.
