For the DHM label, which has a long tradition of old music, this is the first new recording of Begelmann's works in 17 years, since the re-recording of Kuyken's works released in 2000. The circumstances of its formation are still a mystery to this day, but Begelman himself wrote in his liner notes. The album was recorded in two separate sessions over a total of 13 days at a recording studio in As, a small town in the east-central part of the Netherlands. Begelman said of the recording: \"The decision to record this piece was a good one. The decision to record this work was not an easy one. Even now, after I have finished editing all the songs and have given the OK, I feel like throwing everything I have done away and starting all over again. It is said that a recording is a reflection of the performer's feelings about the work at the time. When I listen to my own recordings again, I cannot even recognize who played. I wonder if it was really me...\" This is the conclusion of the 34-year-old Begelman at this point in his career. ＜Born in Moscow in 1983, Begelman began studying violin at the age of seven.He studied with Dmitry Shinkovsky and others at the Tchaikovsky Memorial State Moscow Conservatory, and at graduate school with Alexei Lyubimov. He then studied with Enrico Onofri and Riccardo Minaj at the Bellini Conservatory in Palermo, where he began to seriously pursue a career in baroque violin. He has performed with Baroque orchestras in Europe and the United States, including Compresso Barocco, Accademia Bizantina, Il Pomo d'Oro, and Capella Gavetta, and in recent years has also embarked on conducting and playing with them to great acclaim.
