At the grand mansion in Gunderhof owned by Ignaz von Sonnleithner, founder of the \"Vienna Musikverein,\" regular musical gatherings began in 1815. It was at these \"Gunderhof Concerts\" that Vozšek and Schubert, six years his senior, met. They became close friends, both cherished favorites of the salon.\n\n\n\nOn November 19, 1825, Wozniak, who died at the age of 34, composed his \"Swan Song,\" the Fantasy Sonata, and coincidentally, on the same day three years later, Schubert, who died at the young age of 31, composed his last piano sonata. Please enjoy the music woven together by these two genius composers who lived in the same era as Beethoven, admired him, and influenced each other before their untimely deaths.\n\n\n\nThe instrument used for this recording is a replica of the \"earliest Steinway grand piano,\" which Heinrich Engelhard Steinweg (Henry Steinway) built in his kitchen in 1836. In 2006, Belgian master craftsman Chris Marne built three replicas based on the precious original instrument, which is now stored at the Steinway Factory in New York. The process, which involved the use of the latest technology such as digital sketching, detailed analysis using X-ray equipment from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the identification of the type and age of the wood with the cooperation of the University of Liège, is documented in the documentary film \"Building A Legend\".
