LA's talented jazz bassist SAM WILKES, who is also known for his collaboration with SAM GENDEL, along with CRAIGWEINRIB and DYLAN DAY, performed a superb Quiet Jazz session at dusk in Southern California! This is a limited first-order production, CD & long sleeve t-shirt set! Sam Wilkes, a talented LA bassist who is well known in Japan for his participation in Gen Hoshino's music as well as his duo with Sam Gendell, performed with Craig Weinrib, a drummer also based in LA, and Dylan Day, a guitarist, in this remarkable trio work. The session was recorded at dusk under a Southern California sky with a view of the San Bernardino Mountains. Later, Wilkes asked Dylan Day to play Antonio Carlos Jobim, Dylan requested to hear Craig play the funeral march, and Craig himself wanted to leave the performance gentle and serene, so they reunited eight months after the outdoor session and the pieces for this work came together.Their three-way improvisations on jazz standards such as "Too Young To Go Steady" and "How Insensitive," folk songs, and hymns, completed a memorable piece that documents their fateful encounter and their affinity for the sounds they enjoy.
