Upon returning to Bulgaria, he worked at the Sofia Opera House as a répétiteur and chorus conductor, later becoming its music director. He is highly regarded as a representative composer of the \"second generation of Bulgarian composers,\" known for fusing Western musical forms with Bulgarian folk music.\n\nIn his later years, fascinated by the irregular rhythmic structures rooted in folk dance, he composed a series of piano pieces, including his \"Studies in Metro-Rhythm.\" This album focuses on his \"Works for Young People,\" a collection of twelve programmatic piano pieces. Three of these, Nos. 10-12, were published in 1957 as an \"Album for Children.\" Among them, the 11th piece, \"Play,\" demonstrates Ravel's influence and is an important work highly praised by his teacher Dukas. Six pieces were added in 1938, and three more in 1957, resulting in the current form. This collection represents Pipkov's origins, offering a wide range of study for everyone from beginners to experts.\n\nThe album also includes the complete piano works of his father, Panayot.
